The Vellai Thamarai School has been closed since March 2020, du to the Covid pandemic. It will reopen end of December, as all schools in India.

The teachers of Vellai Thamarai got organised : they send to students , via WhatsApp, recorded lessons with a correction of homeworks.

Not being able to gather in School, students gather in some houses in the village to study together.

50% of student’s parents have a mobile phone and the Puducherry region is well covered by Internet.

The set up of this organisation insures a continuity in teaching, especially for higher grades.
